Jan Bentley's Small Gallery and a Quick Sale

Jan Bentley’s art gallery is a small cozy place, filled with small oil and watercolors, and a few sculptures. With many paintings and with sculptures ranging from the classical to the ultra-modern, in style. The gallery has some occasional visitors, but is not yet a fixture of the city’s art elite collectors. However, Jan is determined to change all of this.

Jan is a petite, attractive woman in her mid-twenties. Casually dressed, she stands with her back to the door adjusting a painting as Greg walks in. “Excuse me, Miss; I’m looking for the owner, Miss Jan Bentley.” Greg says rather formally. Jan turns around. Assuming a strong, firm business voice, she says, “I am she. How can I help you today, sir?

Are you looking to add some beautiful art to add to your collection? Greg steps forward a little. He takes out his business card, holding it up for Jan to see. Jan takes the card from Greg hand. As she looks it over, the name on the card looks familiar. She looks up from the business card and says, “Greg Williams…Hmm…Greg Williams, yes.

You called about seeing some homes in the area?” “Ah, yes, excellent. Come in to my office, we’ll be more comfortable there.” Jan begins to relax a bit and walks ahead of him. They walk to the rear of the building, Greg behind Jan, admiring the “rear view.” They approach a desk where Linda Ristori, the office manager. Linda is in her early twenties.

She sits with the perfect ‘I-won’t-ever-experience-future-back-pains-in-oldage-period’ posture. She is very attractive and dressed to show off her figure in low-cut tight top, very short, tight miniskirt and high leather boots. She’s got enough silver jewelry to give Dracula a heart attack. Greg almost walks into a wall at the sight of Linda and her outfit. Casually, Jan says, “Linda, hold my calls.

I have a meeting with Mr. Williams here.” Linda smiles and makes eye contact with Greg. “Sure, Jan. No problem,” she says a little too nicely. As Jan and Greg enter Jan’s office, Linda takes the opportunity to check Greg out. Unfortunately, she is not impressed with what she sees. Jan’s office is efficient, yet warm, friendly; family pictures cover the desk, and photos of New York cover the walls.
